Almond Oil Skin Benefits
Routine and FAQs
What is
Almond Oil for the Skin?
Around 50% of the total weight of a dried almond is actually oil. When almonds are fully ripe, they go through a gentle pressing process so that the oil can be extracted.
For centuries, Almond Oil has been used to give skin relief and to help with minor injuries and abrasions.
Beyond just easing dry skin, Almond Oil can also help improve your complexion and overall skin tone. Its excellent emollient properties help your skin keep a healthy moisture balance and reduce water loss, so your skin feels soft and comfortable.
What is in
Almond Oil?
Almond Oil contains a mix of nutrients that can have a positive effect on your face, hair and body. Here’s what these Almond Oil nutrients could do for you:
Vitamin E: could help protect your cells from free radicals
Vitamin A: could be beneficial if your skin is prone to breakouts and pimples
Vitamin B-7: could help maintain hair and nail strength
Zinc: may help reduce breakouts, pimples and other skin blemishes

Almond Oil works as both a moisturiser and an emollient for your skin.
Almonds are rich in Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that plays an important role in helping your skin look youthful as you get older.
The amino acids found in Vitamin E can help support Collagen production, which can lead to more even-looking skin and better overall skin health in the long run.
Because of this, Almond Oil is a very good option if you have dry or sensitive skin.
Almond Oil may help reduce visible signs of ageing and support the restoration and strengthening of your skin's barrier. Packed with antioxidants like Vitamin E, Almond Oil could help fight free radicals and may promote a youthful, vibrant look for your skin. Almond Oil could also support Collagen production and elasticity, which play a key role in preventing wrinkles. Put together, these qualities make Almond Oil a great natural choice if you want to keep your skin in good condition as you age.

When you use Almond Oil externally, it has the potential to calm irritated skin, reduce redness and swelling, and support the healing process. When ingested, Almond Oil may help reduce inflammation throughout your body, including in the joints and digestive system.
The Vitamin A and E in Almond Oil act like protectors for your skin. They work together to help repair sun damage, support your skin against impurities and help it look young and healthy. Almond Oil also contains Linoleic Acid, which protects your skin’s barrier and helps it hold on to moisture. So if your skin feels dry because of the sun, Almond Oil can be a very good choice to help it recover.
If you’re looking for a natural way to make your skin look better and feel smoother, Almond Oil is a fantastic choice. Thanks to its Vitamin E content, it can help improve your skin’s complexion and smooth out the look of blemishes. It can make wrinkles and fine lines appear less noticeable and give your skin a brighter, fresher look.

Choosing the Right
Almond Oil:
There are two main types of Almond Oil: sweet and bitter.
Bitter Almond Oil should not be consumed or applied to your skin, whereas Sweet Almond Oil is a safer choice with skin-friendly properties and beneficial nutrients.
The Vitamin A in Almond Oil comes from two sources – one group called Retinoid and another called Retinol. Together, they help stimulate cell regeneration and provide antioxidant support to shield against damage, including that caused by UV radiation.
Sweet Almond Oil is available in two forms: refined and unrefined, often called “cold-pressed.” This term refers to how the oil is extracted from almonds and prepared for use. Cold-pressed Almond Oil, which is obtained without high heat or chemical solvents, is considered especially beneficial because this process helps preserve the essential nutrients in the oil.

Almond Oil can be used throughout your whole skincare routine and is suitable for all skin types.
Step 1: Cleansing
You should always start your skincare routine by cleansing. Cleansing removes debris and pollutants that may have built up on your skin during the day or night, and prepares it to absorb the nourishing ingredients in your care products.
The NIVEA Nourishing Micellar Water is designed for dry skin and has a formula with Amino Acids and Almond Oil to help cleanse, soothe and moisturise your skin. This product is fragrance-free, dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, so you can safely use it on your face, eyes and lips.
Serums can help you target specific skin concerns such as wrinkles, dry skin or even pimples. Their fast absorption and deep penetration may help you see more visible results in a shorter time.
NIVEA offers a range of serums to address concerns such as anti-aging, dark spots and dry skin, with formulas that include Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Luminous630 and Q10.

Step 3: Moisturise
Moisturising your face has benefits you really shouldn’t skip – it can help prevent dryness, slow down the visible signs of ageing and soothe sensitive skin. NIVEA Nourishing Day Cream is designed for dry to sensitive skin, with a formula that includes Almond Oil to provide 24-hour moisture and protection from external stressors.
For your evening routine, the NIVEA Nourishing Night Cream is also infused with Almond Oil and Pro Vitamin B5. This product provides intensive moisture, nourishment and soothing care for your facial skin at night.
Step 4: Apply SPF
Always finish your daytime skincare routine by applying SPF. Many products you use on your skin won’t protect it from sun damage, and sunscreen helps you avoid sunburn from UV rays and supports long-term skin health.
Just like the skin on your face, the skin on your body also benefits from Almond Oil, and you can enjoy it in shower gels and body creams.
NIVEA offers products infused with Almond Oil such as NIVEA Cream Soft Shower Gel. Suitable for daily use, it is pH skin neutral and helps prevent dryness, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple.
After your shower, you can use NIVEA Rich Body Lotion, infused with Almond Oil and pure Vitamin E, to soothe dry to very dry skin and provide hydration for up to 48 hours. This product can be used every day and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft, supporting a healthy-looking complexion.
Precaution:
Almond Oil is generally regarded as a safe option for skin care. Still, it’s important to keep a few safety tips in mind. Always follow the instructions on the packaging and talk to a dermatologist if you have any concerns.

Almond Oil
for hair and nails
Almond Oil could help condition and strengthen both your hair and nails. Rich in Vitamin B-7, also known as Biotin, Almond Oil may support strong, healthy hair and nails. It could also offer some natural protection against sun-induced hair damage, with a built-in SPF of around 5.
Almond Oil can be used as a scalp treatment that helps rebalance the yeast responsible for dandruff. Because it absorbs well into the skin, it can nourish your scalp and help purify the hair follicles.
Additionally, Almond Oil may help you tame frizz and revive damaged hair, leaving it looking smoother and healthier.
